How long does the software take to buffer /load?
This depends on a few factors.
Your internet speed needs to be decent, and we always advise that if you are going to watch love sport on your pc then close most other applications. This generally helps with buffering and stream times. Also the higher the firewall protection, the slower it can be. This is a common problem, and we respect that many people don't want to change thair settings, but it is better to open ports a bit more for viewing live sport.
Also we find that if lots of people are watching one stream then this can have an effect; for example when Ricky Hatton fought Floyd Mayweather, many people started to experience a slower buffer rate in around the 2nd and 2rd rounds. And just think how many people were watching that fight online.
Is the Software Safe?
One of the most common questions we see. Of course we cannot be held responsible for any damage to your system from watching live sport and downloading the software, because we simply provide the links. But we would like to say that the software is safe, we have never had anything or anyone access our computer from the software and we have also never heard of anyone with that problem, so all we can say is from our experiences and all of our users' experiences; the software is safe.
What if I have firewall protection
Then you will have a very slow buffering time depending on the level of pretection. We advise that you should set firewall to accept all connections and p2p programs. This should do the trick and buffering will be at the standard time. Remember you can always change it back after the match. We find more and more people hve their firewall settings lower anyway because of software like Limewire that they use to download music etc.
How can I tell which streams are better quality?
As much as we try to help, the only way to tell if a strem is high quality for YOU is to try it yourself. The problem with this is that you could end up trying 4 streams and when you find the best one you have missed half the match.
So we do what we can to help, we give each stream a rating out of 5 to start with, and whats even better is we give you, the user the chance to change this rating, this means if you find a stream is really slow, you can send your rating to help other users select the best link. Please though, don't forget we are streaming online, you are rarely going to get crystal, lightning fast streaming for 90minutes and therefore we ask you to take not of this when voting
How can I tell if commentary is in English?
Again, because streams vary and are not always what they are meant to be then it is hard to tell unless you play the link. But with the help of users telling us if it is English or not when straming we do tell you next to each link whether the commentary is in English or not. Please note this may not be 1005 accurate.
I have no idea what to do to get started
Well, don't worry we have a whole section just for beginners here.
Here is the basic outline of what needs to be done to start watching live football
Enter watchthefooty.co.uk
Download the software of your choice and any other applications that may help you
Find the match you want on our live schedule
Select any of the links available and start watching. Remember to rate the links, and donate.
Every link I try is really slow, or is not buffering
This will most likely be with your internet connection or firewall problems. As said above, change your firewall settings to allow connections and p2p programs.
If it is still slow then try downloading one of these to help, these worked for us, but if they dont work for you we can not be held responsible.

I just keep getting blank screens
Again, without looking at your pc and connections we cannot be 100% sure with every user. But the most common problem we have found is missing codecs. Try downloading one of these codec packs.
This should sort the problem, if it doesnt why not get in touch with us or use our forum.
